The trailer for the 20th Century Fox’s sci-fi flick, Ad Astra, was released a few days ago. The movie stars Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland. The movie was announced three years ago in 2016 and filmed completed filming in 2017. After nearly two years in post-production, the film is set to release on September 20, 2019.
In the movie, Brad Pitt is sent to space to battle a new kind of threat. It all started with a series of catastrophic power surges on Earth due to a mysterious event in Space. Brad Pitt’s character is recruited to find the source and eliminate the threat. His character, Roy, is the son of another astronaut who was sent on a special projected mission LIMA. LIMA was a mission to find extraterrestrial life in the outer edge of the solar system but the crew along with his father, disappeared 16 years ago. It turns out that LIMA is a top-secret military experiment on an extremely dangerous substance. Roy’s father went rogue, and now he is terrorist determined to use the material to change the world. Now it is Roy’s job to stop his father even if it means killing him.
The trailer for the movie is well received and gives us a sense of what more to come. 20th Century Fox spent about $50 million producing the film and waited almost two years to release it. If the movie turned out to be as good as the trailer, Disney, who now owns 20th Century Fox, will reap the benefits of it.
