It took ten years and 21 movies to get to Avengers: Endgame. It would be the last time Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Evans would star in Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. Their characters are retired at the endgame. There was huge hype building up to launch of the film some even expected it to be the biggest movie ever to date.
Avengers: Endgame broke multiple records upon release. These records include the highest grossing opening day, highest grossing opening weekend, the widest release, 3rd highest grossing movie in China and many more. Finally, after 87 days since release, Avengers: Endgame managed to overtake Avatar as the highest grossing movie of all time. This is, of course, unadjusted for inflation. Avengers: Endgame had huge competition this summer that stalled its momentum. These include John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Aladdin and Pokémon Detective Pikachu. At least now we have a contender to break the 10-year-old record held by Avatar.
